The small West Yorkshire hamlet of Wike is located in the parish of Harewood, close to the city of Leeds. On the outskirts of the Hamlet is Wike Ridge Golf Course, but during the mid-18th century Wike hosted races which included the Bradford St Leger. The race seems to have moved from course to course in the vicinity of Leeds and Wakefield, moving to the village of Crigglestone the next year. There is no further evidence that races returned to Wike after this initial 3-day meeting.
